When Darkness Fell Over the Forest: A Father’s Frightening Hunt in Washington State

This story is about a father and daughter living in Washington State.

John was the father of a girl named Grace.

Grace was around 18 years old and in her teenage years. However, her father, John, didn’t pay much attention to her. It had been 11 years since Grace lost her mother and John lost his wife. Since then, John had become an irritable man who preferred to live alone.

Whenever Grace’s friends came over to her house, they would notice John's cold behavior and even ask Grace, “Are you sure he’s your real father?”

Grace would respond, “My mom died when I was 7 years old. Since then, he’s become like this. Before her death, everything was great.”

Saying this, Grace would grow sad.

To cheer her up, her friends told her they were planning a trip to a nearby forest. Everyone was going, and they asked if she would join them.

Grace happily agreed and said, “Yes, I’ll come too.”

They all started planning the forest trip. On the day of the trip, the group got in the car and left for the forest.

Before leaving, Grace wrote a note detailing where she was going and mentioned that she would return by night. She left the note behind.

The next morning, John found the note, glanced at it, and tossed it aside before leaving for work.

Meanwhile, Grace and her friends—David, Tom, Ella, Maria, and Grace herself—excitedly headed toward the forest. David was driving. Suddenly, he felt like they had taken the wrong road.

He asked Tom to check Google Maps, but no one had cell signal. Tom admitted he forgot to bring the offline map.

They stepped out of the car, looked around, and found themselves at a fork in the road. Taking the road to the left, they carried on with their journey.

Suddenly, David saw a girl running ahead. He told his friends, “There are others here. That means we’re on the right track.”

But none of the others saw her.

Even so, David pulled over, firmly believing what he just saw.

They all got out and followed a visible trail into the forest. It was beautiful—trees all around, birds chirping. Everyone felt happy.

A Mysterious Woman Attacked Maria in the Forest — The First Sign of Horror

Maria, who was walking slowly at the back, suddenly felt someone running behind her. She turned around—no one was there.

As she walked forward again, something pulled her hair and threw her down. She screamed loudly and fell. The others rushed to help her. Maria explained, “Someone just grabbed my hair and pushed me. I saw someone running behind me.”

But no one was there. David tried to calm her, suggesting it was probably someone’s prank.

They moved ahead, aiming to find a waterfall they had heard about, but had no map or signal. Tired, they sat down to rest.

While scanning the area, David noticed four graves—very old ones. They went closer. The gravestones were from 1855, and the current year was 2025.

Reading the names, they realized the graves belonged to the same family. As they were observing, a strong wind began to blow.

woman, Friends, girls, boys

From the wind, a beautiful girl appeared.

She said, My house is nearby. Let’s go, the wind won’t last much longer.

They followed her to a wooden house near a stunning waterfall—the very one they had come to see.

Inside the house, they sat down.

David asked, “Do you live here alone?”

She replied, “No, my family is out for a walk. They’re exploring just like you.”

After some time, Maria insisted on going into the water. Tom joined her.

David laid down outside, enjoying the nature, when he noticed something moving behind a tree.

He stepped forward to see what was wrong, only to be met by a dreadful figure. David turned and ran, but everything had changed—no house, no friends, only darkness.

The man lunged at David, knocking him down.

Suddenly, David woke up—everything was normal. But he felt pain in his chest.

He lifted his shirt and found scratch marks but told no one. He buttoned his shirt and remained quiet.

Tom and Maria continued playing in the water.

Grace was inside, talking to the girl, whose name was Rosie.

Rosie looked at Grace and said, “Your father is a terrible man. I know.”

Grace was shocked, “How do you know?”

Rosie smiled, leaned in, and whispered, “I know what’s inside everyone.”

Frightened, Grace ran outside.

Outside, David was searching for Ella—she was missing.

Everyone panicked and searched for her.

Suddenly, Ella’s body fell from a tree. She was badly hurt and not breathing. Her skin was turning blue.

Everyone began to cry in fear.

When they turned to ask Rosie for help—the house and Rosie were gone.

Then they heard a mysterious voice:

“Ella is gone. Now it’s your turn.”

Terrified, they ran to their car, but it wouldn’t start. They tried running, but kept ending up back at the same spot—the car.

Night fell, and they decided to sleep in the car.

Grace said, “Someone will find us in the morning. Let’s stay here.”

Was It Really Ella? A Frightening Encounter Outside the Car

While sitting in the car, they saw someone approaching.

Turning on the lights, they saw—it was Ella.

David jumped out to run to her, but Tom stopped him.

“That can’t be Ella. She’s gone. This is a trap.”

They locked the car doors.

Ella came to the car crying, “Help me! I’m alive!”

When no one responded, she started banging her head on the car, yelling insults at her friends, then screamed loudly and vanished.

They looked around—she was gone.

Moments later, they saw another car coming toward them.

They waved it down, but when they looked inside, their minds went numb.

They saw themselves—the same five friends, sitting in that car, with evil smiles.

“Come to us,” the copies said.

Grace, David, and Maria ran back to their car, but Tom couldn’t move.

The other car’s passengers pulled Tom inside, and he let out a loud scream before vanishing with the car.

Now only David, Grace, and Maria were left.

Terrified, they fell asleep in the car.

Meanwhile, back home, John had a dream that jolted him awake.

He tried calling Grace and her friends, but no one answered.

Other parents were also worried and reported them missing to the police.

John kept hearing his wife’s voice:

“John! Help Grace. She’s in danger. Save her.”

He picked up the note Grace had left and left for the location.

At the same time, Grace’s phone signal started working.

She called John, but it didn’t connect. She also tried the police—no luck.

Then she sent her live location to John.

John’s phone beeped, and he saw Grace’s location. He immediately left.

As he drove, he remembered:

> “This is the place known for its curse. People say never to enter this forest.”

But it was too late.

John spotted David’s car.

Seeing him, the three friends ran to him.

Grace hugged John and told him everything about Ella and Tom.

John said,

> “I know this place is cursed. No one ever returns. But Grace, I won’t let anything happen to you.”

Hearing that, Grace hugged him tighter.

John ordered them into the car.

They tried to escape, but again, the path kept looping—they kept returning to the same spot.

John paused and told David:

> “I’ll stay behind. You all go.”

Grace cried, “No, Dad! We can’t leave you.”

But John firmly replied:

> “You have to do what I say.”

He got out and said:

> “David, take care of Grace.”

David, crying, nodded. They drove off.

John shouted:

> “Whoever you are, take me instead—but let my kids go!”

Suddenly, something dragged John into the forest.

The loop broke.

David, Grace, and Maria escaped the forest.

Later, they reported the events and the deaths of Tom, Ella, and John.

Days passed in mourning.

Grace, now completely alone, always thought her father hated her.

But he gave his life to save her.

One day, she was sitting in her room crying when she saw John standing in the garden.

She ran to him.

> “Dad! You’re alive?”

John turned and smiled:

> “Grace, I love you so much, my child.”

And just like that—he vanished.

Grace understood. Her father was no longer in this world.

At that moment, David appeared—and finally, he confessed his feelings to Grace.

And this is where the story ends.
