Shano Stories: Haunted Mountain Horror – Disappearing Children Mystery
I'm a new reporter, constantly in search of unique and gripping news stories for my channel. One day, a friend informed me about a mountain region where children had been mysteriously disappearing for quite some time. Just today, the only daughter of a visiting family went missing. The police were searching, but there was no sign of the girl. These incidents had been happening for a while, yet no one knew who was behind the disappearances.
I told my friend that we should go there and investigate. Maybe we’d uncover a major story. The next day, my friend Roheel and I reached the mountain area. The place was stunningly beautiful. We posed as a couple so no one would suspect anything, making it easier for us to conduct our investigation. We checked into one of the hotels from where children had gone missing.
We had only one week to uncover the truth. I lay down in the room while Roheel went out to gather information. As I rested, I heard the sound of a child crying in the adjacent room. I rushed to check. When I opened the door, I saw a terrified little girl crying in the corner, and a woman stood near her holding a knife.
As I approached the woman, she attacked me with the knife... and suddenly, I woke up! It was all just a nightmare. I was deeply shaken, but relieved it was only a dream.
At Midnight
At that moment, Roheel returned, and we went to sleep in our room. It was five in the morning. I got up to drink some water, and when I looked ahead, I saw a child standing in the corner. But his eyes were missing—just black hollow sockets. As he moved toward me, I backed away in fear. Someone suddenly placed a hand on my shoulder. When I turned around—it was me. But with a terrifying grin.
I was seeing myself in the form of a demon. I fainted from fear. When I regained consciousness, Roheel was trying to wake me up. I told him everything, and he said I was just under mental stress.
At 9 a.m., we left the hotel. Outside, there was a small tea stall run by a woman. We sat down for breakfast and casually asked her about the missing children. She began to share that children had been disappearing for the last six years—and the very first child to vanish was her own daughter. The little girl used to help her at the tea stall and was about eleven years old. One day, she went into the woods to collect firewood and never returned.
The woman began to cry as she spoke. We felt sorry for her and reassured her that we would find out the truth. Her name was Reema. She said, "Madam, please find my daughter too. I’d be forever grateful."
We told her to keep our conversation a secret, and she agreed. Then she began telling us more.
Reema said, “Some time ago, there was a man named John who lived here. He really loved kids. He would often gather children around him, sometimes luring them into his house with food. Later, it was discovered that he was doing inappropriate things to them. When the townspeople found out, they went to confront him—but he disappeared that very day. After that, children began vanishing one by one. John really liked my daughter too—maybe he was the one who took her.”
I asked Reema where John’s house was. She showed us a place that had been abandoned for quite some time. She warned us not to go inside, but Roheel and I jumped in anyway. As we crept slowly toward the rooms, we suddenly felt a shadowy presence. We looked around, and out of nowhere, a horrifying man appeared—his eyes glowing red, his face monstrous.
We both tried to run, but suddenly, several children grabbed us. These children weren’t alive—they were dead! Roheel managed to escape, but the dead children dragged me inside. I became paralyzed for a while and saw terrifying scenes with open eyes. Then suddenly, everything returned to normal. I rushed back to the hotel.
Roheel ran toward me as he saw me, but I said nothing and went straight to take a shower. The whole truth had unfolded before me, and now I had to bring it to the world.
The next day, another family arrived. They had a little girl with them. I knew she would disappear—and that’s exactly what happened. The next day, she was gone. But I knew where she was. I took Roheel with me to that place. He was puzzled—how did I know? I just told him, “Just follow me.”
We reached the location, and I told Roheel to record a video. We saw a person dressed in black laying the girl before a demonic idol to offer her as a sacrifice. Just as they were about to do it, I ran and pushed them away, pulling off their mask.
And friends… here comes the real twist!
It was Reema! She was the one behind all the child abductions.
I fought her fiercely and injured her badly. Meanwhile, the police arrived. We had the video evidence. They took Reema into custody.
During the investigation, Reema confessed that John was a good man. He had caught her sacrificing her own daughter, so she killed him too. When asked why she sacrificed children, she replied:
“I worshipped the devil. To please him, I had to offer children as sacrifices. When I first sacrificed my daughter, my life improved. And every time I faced trouble, I sacrificed another child—and the devil rewarded me with more power.”
The police assured us she would face the harshest punishment.
Later, I visited John’s house again—and I saw all the children and John standing peacefully. Finally, they had gotten justice.
